This bergère chair was reupholstered in a tweed from Knoll Textiles.
The Eames sofa compact started out as a built-in sofa in the Pacific Palisades home that Charles and Ray Eames designed for themselves in the 1940s.
They liked the sofa so much that they developed a freestanding version which has been in continuous production since 1954.
We are proud to be able to reupholster this timeless classic for our clients.
This month we were asked to reupholster a very large corner banquette
Very slowly the craftsmen remove the existing fabric to make sure the integrity of the frame is not compromised.
The existing fabric is then handed over to measure new cuts with the new fabric.
Once new fabrics are cut we can begin the application of the new fabric
It's looking good!
Designed by Florence Knoll the Saarinen chair has been an iconic design - unchanged for 70 years. The application of new fabric requires a skilled set of hands by the craftsmen at NFS to bring this classic chair back to life.
